Chris Giesbrecht Releases Veterans Platform on RED Friday

Today is RED Friday, a day to Remember Everyone Deployed.

I am proud to release my veterans platform, focused on practical ways the City of Winnipeg can better recognize and support those who served.

My plan includes:

✅ Keeping Field of Honour burials free and properly maintaining the Fields of Honour

✅ Providing free year-round transit for veterans and serving Canadian Armed Forces members

✅ Creating a RED Recreation Pass for City recreation facilities and programs

✅ Improving Veterans Way with a proper monument and gathering place

✅ Forming a Veterans Advisory Team so veterans have a direct voice through my office

✅ Making it easier for veterans without veteran licence plates to access existing City parking benefits

Veterans deserve more than recognition on one or two days each year. They deserve practical support and a City that continues to honour their service after they come home.
