Transcona’s seniors helped build this community. They worked, raised families, supported local businesses, and gave their time to Transcona’s future. They deserve City services that help them stay safe, independent, and connected.
For many seniors, transit is essential. The 2025 transit changes replaced familiar routes with longer walks, extra transfers, and trips that no longer match how many seniors get around. I will push to bring back the routes and connections that worked, while keeping any changes that actually improved service.
I will also advocate for affordable senior transit by introducing a $200 annual transit pass for every Winnipeg senior aged 65 and older, with no income testing or unnecessary paperwork.
I will also work to create a Silver Pass, a simple seniors discount card offering City benefits and discounts from participating local businesses.
For seniors who struggle to carry groceries or make several bus transfers, I will work with community partners to pilot a low cost Grocery Shuttle from seniors’ buildings to nearby grocery stores and pharmacies.
Seniors should also feel safe in their own neighbourhoods. I will push for stronger action on theft, vandalism, problem properties, and repeat disorder.
I will support the Park Manor expansion and make sure the city is not the reason for any construction delays.
My goal is simple: help Transcona seniors stay safe, independent, and connected to the community they helped build.
Campaigns are won by neighbours helping neighbours. If you believe Transcona deserves bridge building leadership, safer streets, better basics, and smart growth that puts residents first, I’d be grateful for your support.
Whether you can volunteer, donate request a lawn sign, or help spread the word, every bit of help makes a difference.
