I grew up in Transcona, and I’ve never stopped being proud of it.
This is a community built by people who show up, work hard, look out for each other, and take pride in what they leave behind. You can see it in our railway roots, in our neighbourhoods and in our small businesses.
That idea of building has shaped my own life. I earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Winnipeg, built experience in customer service, problem solving, and website design. A skill I used to designed this website myself, because I believe the best builders are hands on.
I’ve also worked as a support worker for adults with disabilities, and it was one of the most uplifting and rewarding experiences I’ve had. It taught me a lot about dignity and patience. It reminded me that when you help support someone else, you often find your own sense of purpose too. That experience is a big part of why I’m proud to serve on the board of the St. Amant Foundation.
Here in Transcona, I also serve through the Rotary Club of Transcona, the Transcona Museum, and as a Constituency Assistant to the Member of Parliament for Elmwood-Transcona. Those roles have reminded me that strong communities do not happen by accident. They are built by people who care enough to give their time, ask hard questions, and keep showing up.
That is the builder mindset I want to bring to City Hall.
I’m running for City Council because I believe Transcona deserves a councillor that builds bridges.
That means safer streets, stronger basic services, and a serious focus on getting projects moving. Transcona should not have to wait forever for the East of the Red Rec Plex, the Edward Schreyer Parkway connection, Homes for Heroes, or the Park Manor expansion. These are the kinds of projects that strengthen a community, support families and seniors, and prepare Transcona for the future.
It also means making City Hall easier to deal with. We need to expand as-of-right approvals, simplify permitting, and make it faster to build and invest in our neighborhoods. If a project meets the rules and meets code, it should not be trapped in delays for months or years.
